Russell Knox produced his best worldwide performance since August 2016 to secure a place at The Open during the Open de France.
The leading three players in the top 10 and not already exempt at Le Golf National booked a spot in the third major of the year, with Knox, Julian Suri and Marcus Kinhult taking those places.
Knox began the final round 10 strokes off the pace in Paris, only to fire six birdies in a blemish-free 65 and grab a share of second spot alongside Suri and Chris Wood.
"This was one of the huge goals coming over here, to try and play my way in," Knox told the European Tour website. "Obviously you don't want to miss an Open Championship in Scotland being a Scot, so job done.
"I love links golf. playing well and coming into form. I just need that big push in the summer to move up."
Suri held a share of the lead until finding the water on his way to a final-hole double-bogey on Sunday, while overnight leader Kinhult secured a maiden major appearance despite a final-round 76.
"I guess that (Open Qualification) is a consolation somewhat, and I love Carnoustie," Suri said. "I played it in the Dunhill for the first time last year, obviously under totally different conditions.
"Last year at The Open was my first major and it will be nice to be back and play the last two majors of the year."
