Rory McIlroy v John Daly: Which was the better club throw?

John Daly hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons once again on day two of the PGA Championship, losing his temper, several balls and his club on one hole.

The 1991 champion had every chance of making the cut until coming to grief at the par-three seventh, where he put three balls in the water before finally finding dry land with his seventh shot.

Watch what happened when frustration got the better of former PGA Champion John Daly as he made his way to the par-five seventh.

Unable to contain his anger, Daly took a few paces towards the green before flinging his iron into the water, where it was salvaged by a young fan in a passing boat.

The incident was remarkably similar to the one involving Rory McIlroy at Doral back in March, when the world No 1 pulled a three-iron into the drink and launched the offending club into the hazard on his follow-through.

Rory McIlroy let his frustration boil over by launching his club into the water at the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

It's not the sort of thing the pros practice, but both McIlroy and Daly displayed admirable technique in their club throwing ability, so whose was the best?
