Ahead of Carin Koch announcing her captain's picks for next month's European side, we looked back at the Swede's record in the Solheim Cup...

2000 – Europe 14.5 USA 11.5

Koch had a debut to remember, winning all three of her matches to help Europe to their first victory in four attempts.

The Swede had missed on qualification in 1996 and was ruled out of selection in 1998 due to being heavily pregnant, but was handed a captain's pick by Dale Reid after following two top-ten finishes in majors during 1999 with a maiden Ladies European Tour title at the Chrysler Open.

Europe got off to a flying start in Scotland, with Koch and compatriot Catrin Nilsmark winning their opening foursomes 2and1 as the hosts raced in to a 4-0 lead. The pair combined forces to win by the same margin over Nancy Scranton and Michele Redman a day later, giving the home side a five point advantage heading in to the Sunday singles.

As the hosts stuttered during the final round and claimed just two points from the opening eight matches, it was left to the rookie duo of Koch and Nilsmark to see Europe home.

Despite finding herself three down during her singles game with Redman, Koch fought back to sink an eight-foot birdie on the 17th and seal victory for her and the European team.

2002 – USA 15.5 Europe 12.5

Despite another unbeaten tournament from Koch, the captain's pick was unable to prevent the USA from maintaining their 100% home record.

Hiding the fact she was 12 weeks pregnant with her second child, Koch claimed four and a half points from five matches during a busy three days and extended her unbeaten record in foursomes.

A convincing 4&2 win with Annika Sorenstam over the USA's captain's picks helped Europe start positively, while a 3&2 victory alongside Mhairi McKay over top-seed Juli Inkster and Kelli Kuehne saw the tournament delicately poised at 4-4 after the opening day.

Koch and Sorenstam's 4&3 triumph over Beth Daniel and Wendy Ward was Europe's only point during the Saturday morning foursomes, although the visitors bounced back by winning all four of their afternoon matches and move 9-7 ahead.

The home side dominated the singles by winning seven and halving three of the 12 matches, with Koch finishing all square in her fixture with Beth Daniel.

2003 – Europe 17.5 USA 10.5

Just months after giving birth to her second child, Koch featured heavily on home soil as Europe equalled the record for most-convincing victory in Solheim Cup history.

Koch was part of the only European pairing not to win in the Friday morning foursomes, with her and Laura Davies halving their fixture with Daniel and Kelly Robbins.

The Swede's long unbeaten record Solheim Cup came to an end when her and compatriot Annika Sorenstam were beaten at the final hole by Kuehne and Cristie Kerr, although the pair responded by seeing off Wendy Ward and Heather Bowie in the Saturday foursomes.

After not featuring in the afternoon foursomes, Koch suffered Europe's first defeat in the Sunday singles when she lost 5&4 to Juli Inkster although the hosts went on to complete victory later that afternoon.

2005 – USA 15.5 Europe 12.5

A fourth consecutive Solheim Cup appearance ended in disappointment for Koch as the USA once again dominated the singles to claim victory in Indiana.

Despite being two down with four to play, Koch maintained her unbeaten record in the foursomes when her and Catriona Matthew halved their clash with Paula Creamer and Beth Daniel.

Europe's only win in the morning came when Koch and Sophie Gustafson claimed four holes in a row on their way to a 5&3 victory, although the Swede and Matthew were later narrowly beaten in the fourballs when Koch drove in to the water during the final hole of her match with Kerr and Creamer.

Heading in to the final day all square, Koch's 2&1 triumph over Redman was one of only four European victories in the singles as the hosts retained the title.

2013 – USA 10 Europe 18

Koch and Sorenstam assisted Swedish counterpart Liselotte Neumann in guiding Europe to their biggest victory in Solheim Cup history and their first on foreign soil.

The visitors saw their opening day advantage cut to one when the USA claimed three of the four Saturday morning foursomes, only for Europe to storm clear by winning all of the afternoon fourballs.

Already holding a five point advantage, Neumann's side extended their winning margin in the singles to defend the title. Koch will now look to lead Europe to a third consecutive victory for the first time in their history.
