What are the odds of Will Smith becoming president? Or One Direction star Niall Horan transforming careers and trying his luck as a professional golfer?

We asked a number of leading PGA Tour stars to guess the odds of various bizarre situations becoming reality ahead of this week's Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

With benchmark odds of 60/1, will they go higher for a hole in one at the 17th? Whatever the odds, backers would have been well rewarded when Will Wilcox made the first ace at Pete Dye's famous island-green creation since Miguel Angel Jimenez back in 2002.

Some of the top golfers in the world guess the odds of some unusual scenarios...

Other unlikely scenarios include the USA winning the World Cup and a proven alien landing on Earth this year, while there is always a slim possibility of an unsuspecting golfer getting bitten by one of the many alligators that inhabit the vast expanses of water around the Stadium Course.
