Tiger Woods will make his first competitive start since August 2015 at this week's Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

An extraordinary year of golf on Sky Sports is not over yet. After 15 months out of action, Tiger Woods makes his return to competition at the Hero World Challenge, starting on Thursday, December 1.

Woods is once again the tournament host at the stunning Albany resort in the Bahamas, where an elite 18-player field featuring six of the world's top 10 will assemble for one of the most eagerly-anticipated events of 2016.

We have not seen Woods on the course since the Wyndham Championship in August last year, after which he underwent back surgery and has spent most of this season slowly getting back to full fitness.

The star-studded field includes three reigning major champions in Dustin Johnson, Henrik Stenson and Jimmy Walker, while the likes of Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson and Justin Rose add further major quality.

But the majority of the attention will be on Woods, who aborted his initial comeback attempt last month, as we will get the first indication of his form, fitness, and whether he can still mix it with the best.

We'll have live coverage from all four rounds on Sky Sports 4 from 6:30pm on Thursday, December 1, and you can also get a reminder of Tiger's glory years with a number of special features on the 14-time major champion throughout the week.

And as well as the return of the Tiger, the new European Tour season kicks off with two co-sanctioned tournaments in South Africa and Australia. We'll have live coverage of the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek, and we'll also be bringing you highlights of the Australian PGA Championship from Queensland.
