The European Tour will feature a minimum of 48 tournaments in the 2017 schedule, one more than the previous campaign.

Three tournaments will return to the schedule in new guises, while the international schedule is headlined by the seven Rolex Series events - all offering a minimum prize fund of $7million (£5.5m).

The Tour will head to Sicily for the first time since 2012 for the Rocco Forte Open from May 18-21, with the Open de Portugal being hosted a week earlier after a seven year absence.

Andalucía Valderrama Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation also features from October 19-22, with a further tournament set to be announced in the coming weeks.

"That will give us 48 tournaments around the world, once again demonstrating the global footprint of the European Tour, while at the same time offering a wide range of playing opportunities for our members."
