Andrew 'Beef' Johnston enjoyed a beer at the WDC and held a sign saying a 'I'm not Shane' in reference to lookalike Shane Lowry!

Andrew “Beef” Johnston increased his fan appeal by becoming the latest sports star to join the crowds at the PDC World Darts Championship.

A day on from Masters champion Danny Willett enjoying a night out at Alexandra Palace, Beef was at the darts to enjoy a night of top tungsten action.

The Open de Espana champion saw Peter "Snakebite" Wright whitewash Jamie Lewis and defending champion Gary Anderson despatch Benito Van de Pas 4-2.

Johnston also got to view one of the matches of the tournament so far, as two-time world champion and last year's runner-up Adrian Lewis was knocked out in a 4-3 thriller against Raymond van Barneveld.

Golf's newest household name was quick to show his fun side when the cameras panned on him, holding a sign up saying "I'm not Shane" - making light of the comparisons often drawn between him and Ireland's Shane Lowry.
