Jack Nicklaus has enjoyed many memorable moments at Augusta National over the years, but it was his grandson's turn to bring the house down with a hole-in-one on Wednesday.
Gary Nicklaus Jr, 15, was caddying for his grandfather in the traditional Par 3 Tournament on the eve of the Masters.
GT, as he is known, was given his spot in the limelight at the ninth and final hole, where caddies can take the chance to fire off a tee shot after the players have had their go.
GT stepped up, landing his tee shot on the green from where it rolled back down the slope at an angle and into the hole for an ace, with loud cheers ringing around the course.
Six-times Masters champion Nicklaus joined in the celebrations on the tee, along with playing partners Tom Watson and Gary Player, and had a tear in his eye as he hugged his grandson.
He later revealed that he had predicted the hole-in-one in advance.
Nicklaus finished on four under for the Par 3 Tournament, with Watson winning it outright on six under.
The 78-year-old, 18-time major winner, said later: "What I did doesn't make any difference to me. But watching your grandson do something special, I have a few tears.
"We talked about three days ago and said 'GT do you want to hit the ball on nine?' and he said 'sure'. I said, 'well I think you're going to make a hole-in-one'. It's his first.
"You always want the best for your kids and your grandkids and to watch a grandkid come along and knock in a hole-in-one on the biggest venue in the world... wow. I mean what a day."
GT Nicklaus added: "This is probably my favourite week of the year and this is a special tournament, golf is a sport that I love and for that to happen is just unbelievable."
