The golfing world wasted no time in paying tribute to Patrick Reed after the American became the latest player to claim a maiden major title.
Reed held off the challenge of Ryder Cup team-mates Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth to claim a one-shot victory at Augusta National, as playing partner Rory McIlroy's bid for a career Grand Slam was left to wait for another year.
The 27-year-old took a three-shot lead into the final round and never dropped off the top of the leaderboard during an eventful final round, before sealing victory with a close-range par at the last.
