Tour Championship: Scottie Scheffler chasing Viktor Hovland in FedExCup finale as Rory McIlroy falls further back

Viktor Hovland holds a share of the lead at the halfway stage of the PGA Tour's season-ending Tour Championship, with Scottie Scheffler firmly in FedExCup contention.
Hovland - the 2023 FedExCup champion - birdied the par-five last to post a second-round 66 at East Lake Golf Club, pulling him level on 10 under alongside American Ryan Gerard.
Collin Morikawa and Chris Gotterup posted matching 67s to sit one back in Atlanta, while Cameron Young fired a round-of-the-day 62 to charge from joint-bottom of the leaderboard to within two of the lead.

Young is joined on eight under by Scheffler, who made five birdies in a seven-hole stretch around the turn during a three-under 67, with English duo Justin Rose and Matt Fitzpatrick three adrift alongside Ludvig Åberg and Adam Scott.
A congested leaderboard sees 19 of the 29-man field separated by just five shots, but defending champion Tommy Fleetwood is six behind on four under and three-time FedExCup winner Rory McIlroy a further stroke back.
How Hovland moved into FedExCup mix
Young was first out on his own but quickly charged up the leaderboard with five birdies in six holes from the third, before starting his back nine with successive birdies to move within one behind overnight leader Min Woo Lee.
The Players champion bogeyed the next and went on a run of pars until a sensational finish at the par-five last, where a 40-foot eagle set the clubhouse target, as Lee immediately lost ground with a three-putt triple-bogey at the par-four fifth.
Gerard had started three back and fell further behind with a bogey at the first, but he followed back-to-back birdies from the third by adding two more from the seventh to charge into a share of the lead.
Playing partner Bhatia was already in that logjam on eight under after three birdies in four holes from the fourth, while Burns and Woodland - playing several groups ahead - both picked up a shot at the 13th to briefly make it a five-way tie.
Gerard started his back nine by matching Bhatia's birdie and held the solo lead when his playing partner bogeyed the 12th, only for Gotterup to race through the field and briefly pull level on nine under after a birdie at the 13th.
Hovland was three behind until he registered birdies at the 10th and 12th by nailing a 25-footer at the par-three 15th, putting him alongside Gerard, with Scheffler one back until a careless approach led to a dropped shot at the 17th.
Gerard produced a brilliant up and down to close a second-round 65 with a birdie and move to 10 under, as Hovland followed a key 12-foot par save at the 16th by rolling in from 10 feet at the last to move joint-top of the leaderboard.
"I found something that seems to be going straight, so very happy with that," Hovland told reporters. "Last week I drove it awful. The week before, not so great either. It's not like I've changed too much since those last few weeks, but I'm driving it better this week. You've just got to take advantage!"
Scheffler, who mixed six birdies with three bogeys in his second round to move to eight under, said: "Yesterday I had a clean card. Today I made a few bogeys. That's pretty much the difference in the score."
