After a first round 69 at the PGA Championship, Hideki Matsuyama shot himself up the leaderboard with a superb shot early in his second round.

Having found the fairway with his tee shot, Matsuyama pitched the ball nicely onto the green with his second and watched with delight as the ball landed and spun back, ever closer to the hole before finally it dropped - drawing a huge cheer from the crowd around the green.

The eagle took the Japanese ace, 24, to three under par for the championship and he reached the turn in 32 after a topsy-turvy front nine that saw him card a further two birdies at the fourth and the sixth, only to follow each of them up with a bogey at the next hole.

Watch the PGA Championship throughout the week live on Sky Sports 4 - your home of golf. Live coverage of the third round begins from 4pm on Saturday.  Or watch from £6.99 without a contract, on NOW TV.
