Chris Eubank Jr and Gennady Golovkin lock horns on social media

The verbal prelude to a potential fight between Chris Eubank Jr and Gennady Golovkin has already begun on social media.
Eubank Jr (23-1-KO18) showcased his brilliance on Saturday night - defending his British middleweight title with a dismissive stoppage of Tom Doran - and immediately reiterated his desire to take on the division's marquee fighter, Golovkin (35-0-KO32).
Opinions as to whether Eubank Jr is ready to step up and face the WBA Super, WBC and IBF world champion are divided but with meetings scheduled for early in the week, the possibility of finding out this year is becoming a realistic possibility.
Having seen the Brighton man call him out again in a post-fight interview, Golovkin said via social media: "I'm ready, who's next? @chriseubankjr @eddiehearn @skysportsboxing."
Eubank Jr was quick to respond, warning via his own social media page: "You're not ready for what's coming. Sign the contract & we'll find out."
Golovkin was last in action in April - taking less than two rounds to stop Dominic Wade and should he face Eubank Jr next, the fight would be likely to take place in September in the UK.
