Team Europe have retained the PartyPoker Mosconi Cup after beating Team USA 11-7 at the Tropicana Las Vegas.

Europe began the fourth and final day with a 9-6 advantage, meaning they needed just two more points to win the 22nd renewal of the team event.

And their evening got off to a great start when Niels Feijen opened the night with a tight 5-4 victory over Justin Bergman.

However, Shane van Boening of Team USA kept their hopes alive with a 5-4 win over Karl Boyes in the second match on the programme.

Albin Ouschan of Team Europe then squared off against Skyler Woodward and, once again, the race-to-5 went to a decider.

But Ouschan managed to clinch victory when he confidently rolled the nine-ball into the corner pocket, giving Team Europe an unassailable 11-7 advantage.

The Austrian celebrated exuberantly and was quickly mobbed by his team-mates as the European side celebrated an amazing sixth successive victory against their rivals in the Mosconi.

Feijen was named Mosconi Cup MVP for the fourth time after winning four out of five matches, including all three of his singles encounters.

He said: "This year is extra special, because I was super-nervous before this edition. I knew it was going to be a very big one.

"It is unbelievable, the team were just crazy."
