Michael Bisping wants to coax Georges St-Pierre back into the cage for a catch-weight fight in Canada.

St-Pierre, one of the UFC's greatest ever competitors, has been inactive for three years but looks set to make a comeback on home soil later this year.

Britain's first ever UFC champion Bisping must first complete a maiden title defence against Dan Henderson, but has called for a high-profile cross-division fight against the returning St-Pierre during an exclusive Sky Sports interview.

There's a fight card with no main-event announced, so if GSP fancies himself and wants to put his gloves back on, here I am!

"If he wants to do it, we can fight in Toronto in December," Bisping said.

"There's a fight card with no main-event announced, so if GSP fancies himself and wants to put his gloves back on, here I am!

"I'll beat Henderson in October but I don't mind having a quick turnaround and fighting GSP in December.

"GSP mentioned fighting me recently and that would be another huge name to add to my resume."

Bisping's recent middleweight title victory against Luke Rockhold brought him level with St-Pierre with 19 UFC victories apiece, an all-time record that the Brit will surpass if he beats Henderson.

St-Pierre has never fought above the welterweight (170lbs) limit - so Bisping has offered to drop below middleweight (185lbs) for the first time to make the fight happen.

"I'll go down to 180lbs and do a catch-weight for him, as an incentive to get back in there," he claimed.

"I've got no inside-information [about St-Pierre's return], I just think it's time they went to Toronto. But I recently found out there's still no main-event so GSP v Michael Bisping, let's go."

St-Pierre, whose 12 wins in world title fights remains an all-time record, set a UFC attendance high in Toronto when 55,000 people watched him defeat Jake Shields. He vacated his welterweight gold in 2013 but always refused to confirm his permanent retirement.
