Conor McGregor has fuelled the speculation surrounding his widely-expected return to the UFC after posting a cryptic message to his supporters on social media.

The reigning UFC lightweight champion is yet to announce his next opponent in the Octagon following his brief foray into the world of boxing against Floyd Mayweather.

A potential fight with interim champion Tony Ferguson could be on the cards, after UFC president Dana White claimed that the match-up "has to happen" in the future.

And McGregor seemingly has Ferguson in his sights after posting a single word message to his fans on social media - "Tony".

The 27-year-old Irishman accompanied the message with a cartoon of himself, in a style similar to that of video game Grand Theft Auto.

Ferguson has repeatedly challenged McGregor to a title fight after defeating Kevin Lee to win the interim belt earlier this month.
