Conor McGregor has insisted he will pen the first nine-figure UFC contract.

The Irishman is just six fights into his career with the world's biggest MMA organisation but has already won the interim featherweight championship and become one of the sport's most compelling characters.

He has now revealed that his swift rise up the ranks will be reflected in a record-breaking new contract.

"I'm waiting on my next multi, nine-figure contract, which is en route," McGregor told The MMA Hour.

"Nobody in the game has talked nine figures. That's $100 million plus. That's my contract, so, that's where I'm at and I've done it the way I've done it. Either learn from it or don't."

At UFC 189 this summer, McGregor's planned fight with world champion Jose Aldo was postponed when the title-holder withdrew injured. He instead defeated Chad Mendes to take the interim gold.

The popularity of that event, McGregor predicts, will be overshadowed by UFC 194 in December when he finally locks horns with long-time champion Aldo.

He said: "When you're bringing in $60 million revenue on a fight where the main event guy has pulled out two weeks before, you think anyone else can do that?

"This next one, we are estimating $10 million for the gate alone. This is going to bring in $90-100m this card here."

McGregor has revealed that he paid a visit to the UFC hierarchy in order to thrash out a deal that reflected his popularity.

He cites the example of the upcoming Dublin main event where Dustin Poirier will fight Joe Duffy - two of his former opponents who McGregor claims have enjoyed an increase in value purely through sharing the spotlight with him.

"I came at them with fact, numbers and I didn't go round about," he said. "I looked them dead in the eye with straight facts. When someone comes at you with clear facts, there's only one thing you can do and that's respect it.

"Even fights that have linked to my name are main event status. There is no other fighter in the game that has that.

"When fighters lose to a fighter, they are not a draw. But, when they lose to me they are draws. They can go to different regions and headline and make seven-figure revenues on the gate.

"I am very confident we will come to a deal and it will be in the nine-figure mark, and rightfully so."
