Jack Aitken took his maiden F2 victory after a perfect drive in the Sprint Race at the Spanish GP in Barcelona.
The Renault reserve driver started third on the grid, but made a great getaway on a damp track to take the lead on the run to Turn One.
Showing tremendous speed in tricky conditions, Aitken had a lead of over 11 seconds by lap five, but that would be eroded by the Safety Car.
He didn't let that frustrate him and Aitken controlled the remainder of the race from the front, even with multiple Virtual Safety Cars disrupting his rhythm.
British-born Thai racer Alexander Albon finished second for DAMS as he continues to mount a championship challenge having now secured a full-time drive for the F2 season.
The podium was completed by championship leader Lando Norris, who progressed from sixth on the grid to third and looked briefly like he would challenge Albon for second.
Saturday's Feature Race winner George Russell was fourth, on a great day for the next generation of British motorsport.
The F2 Championship continues in Monaco, live on Sky Sports F1, but remember that the Feature Race is on the Friday and the Sprint Race on the Saturday.
