Yorkshire Jets face Manchester Thunder in pre-season

Huddersfield Leisure Centre to host Vitality Netball Superleague pre-season game ahead of the new season

Yorkshire Jets are to face a Roses clash as part of their pre-season preparation by welcoming the Manchester Thunder.

Huddersfield's new Leisure Centre will host the game on Saturday, December 12, with the game getting underway at 12.30pm.

It is the second pre-season game which Jets are hosting in the town - they play their first, against Team Northumbria, this Saturday at the University.

Jets and Thunder have both seen significant changes to their teams since the end of last season, with Stacey Francis and Sophie Halpin joining Jets and Natalie Haythornthwaite moving across the Pennines to Thunder under their new head coach Dan Ryan.

"Games between Yorkshire Jets and Manchester Thunder are always closely contested, exciting affairs and we're pleased to be able to bring the Roses clash to Huddersfield," said Jets head coach Anna Carter.

"Both our teams have significant changes from last season so it will be a great opportunity for supporters from both sides of the Pennines to see the 2015 Superleague semi-finalists in action ahead of the 2016 campaign."

Tickets are are available at yorkshirejets.net and include a warm up game between Jets and Thunder's NPL teams from 10.30am.

Meanwhile, Team Bath Netball will be sporting a brand-new kit ahead of the new season.

Team Bath goal-shooter Shaunagh Craig was impressed with sleek new look that incorporates the city's iconic Gorgon's head into the famous Blue and Gold.

"There is no longer a distinction between activewear and fashion," Craig said.
