Loughborough Lightning remain top of Netball Superleague

Peace Proscovia and Lpoughborough claimed an opening week victory over Manchester Thunder

Loughborough Lightning retained their perfect record at the summit of the Netball Superleague after beating Sirens on Saturday.

Lightning ran out 66-51 winners to cling onto the top spot after a fifth consecutive victory, after having to overturn Sirens' four-goal lead after the first quarter.

Wasps trail Lightning by three points after a 65-44 win against Severn Stars, briefly drawing level on points with Surrey Storm who have a game in-hand.

Celtic Dragons were condemned to a fifth defeat in a row, going down 53-49 to Hertfordshire Mavericks.

On Monday, Surrey Storm can equal Lightning's perfect points tally at the top of the Superleague if they defeat Team Bath. Team Northumbria, without a point in four matches, will play Manchester Thunder on Monday too.
