Surrey Storm and Loughborough Lightning both win in Vitality Netball Superleague

Surrey Storm and Loughborough Lightning maintained their perfect starts in the Vitality Netball Superleague with impressive wins on Saturday.

Storm continued their unbeaten run with a 69-47 win over basement side Celtic Dragons at Surrey Sports Park while Loughborough produced a convincing 66-57 victory over Hertfordshire Mavericks.

Rhea Dixon and Megan Craig fired Storm into an 8-6 lead to overcome their only deficit of the game and they never looked back.

A first quarter 18-14 lead was extended to an impressive 40-25 margin by half-time when head coach Tania Hoffman opted to rotate the bench.

Surrey held an 11-goal lead heading into the final quarter and Mikki Austin was sent on to wrap up victory.

Manchester Thunder beat Wasps in Vitality Superleague

Wasps visit Surrey Sports Park on Saturday with a number of familiar faces including head coach Tamsin Greenway and Storm legends Rachel Dunn and Hannah Reid.

The Mavericks were unable to contain an in-form Lightning, who remained neck-and-neck with Surrey at the top of the standings with a solid away win.
