Manchester Thunder got the better of Wasps in a top of the table clash - hit play on the video for the highlights

Manchester Thunder produced a superb performance to beat leaders and defending champions Wasps 53-42 at Manchester Arena on Saturday.

It's all to play for at the top of the Vitality Superleague and after Bath beat Mavericks on Friday night, third-placed Thunder followed up by beating Wasps, with the weekend's results now meaning the top five are separated by just six points.

Wasps had beaten Thunder in the semi-finals last year and edged the first meeting between the pair early this season at the Ricoh Arena.

However Karen Greig's Thunder, roared on by a raucous home crowd, were too strong for the visitors and having got off to a fast start kept the champions at bay to record an impressive victory.

It's now back-to-back defeats for Wasps who had won each of their opening 12 games before losing to Loughborough last week and another defeat to a top-four rival means they still have work to do at the top of the table.
