Wayne Hutchinson is looking forward to getting back on Grumeti in the bet365 West Yorkshire Hurdle at Wetherby on Saturday.
The seven-year-old was last seen springing a 50/1 shock in the Cesarewitch earlier this month as he won for the first time since landing a novice chase at Plumpton in January.
His career over fences went downhill after that and he was pulled up by Hutchinson in the Grand Annual Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
However, the Grade One novice hurdle winner showed he still retained plenty of ability when taking the marathon handicap on the Flat at Newmarket.
Grumeti, trained by Alan King, will now tackle three miles for the first time when he reverts to the smaller obstacles.
"He's in good nick and I'm looking forward to getting back on him," Hutchinson told At The Races.
"It was fantastic he won the Cesarewitch. He's been a great servant for the yard and he deserved another big one.
"When he campaigned over hurdles a couple of seasons back it was always two miles and last year was two miles as well over fences but he wasn't a lover of a fence.
"Stepping him up in trip over a hurdle could be interesting."
