George Baker is leaning towards sending Belgian Bill on his travels again after giving him an entry into next month's Ricoh Woodbine Mile.
Plans had been in place to run the globetrotting seven-year-old in the Balmoral Handicap on Champions Day at Ascot on October 17, following his creditable in defeat in the Arlington Million earlier this month.
With Baker concerned over the prospect of the ground being too soft for his stable star at the Berkshire track, he is considering aiming the six-times race winner at the Grade One prize, won last year by the David Simcock-trained Trade Storm, on September 13 instead.
Baker said: "We have given Belgian Bill an entry into the Woodbine Mile and we will see how that pans out.
"I see that Olly Stevens may send Lightning Spear there, but Belgian Bill is a horse that thrives on his travelling.
"The ground might have gone against him by the time the Balmoral Handicap comes round in the autumn, so we might go over to Canada instead before he has his break for Dubai."
