Leighton Aspell was taken to hospital for further checks following a nasty fall at Fontwell on Sunday.

Partnering Uptendownone in the Stephanie Rees Rainbow Child Foundation Handicap Hurdle, Aspell parted company with his Gary Moore-trained mount at the second obstacle.

The dual Grand National-winning jockey was initially treated on the track before being taken to hospital for further examination.

The track tweeted: "Leighton Aspell is conscious and on his way to Brighton Hospital. We wish him all the best."
