Jim Crowley extended his lead over Silvestre de Sousa to seven in the race for the Stobart-sponsored jockeys' championship with a 36-1 four-timer at Lingfield.

Crowley took his tally for the campaign to 97 when steering four favourites home at the Surrey venue, while De Sousa drew a blank at Doncaster, finishing second in the St Leger on Ventura Storm.

After enjoying a seven-length romp on Unforgetable Filly (4-9) for Hugo Palmer in the maiden fillies' stakes, Crowley had two winners for David O'Meara on Salateen (11-8) in a seven-furlong conditions event and He's No Saint (15-8) in the seven-furlong handicap.

He wound up a successful day with victory on the Paul Cole-trained Sweet Dragon Fly in the six-furlong handicap.

Crowley was cut to 1-3 from 4-6 with BetVictor to be champion jockey for the first time, while title-holder De Sousa is 9-4.

Kieren Fox was banned for four days for using his whip above the permitted level when partnering Fearless Lad to victory in the Banjo Services Handicap.
