Frankel colt Swiss Storm secures Newbury win

A round-up of the action from Newbury's meeting on Saturday as Swiss Storm became the latest son of Frankel to deliver in style.
Swiss Storm set up a possible tilt at next month's Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster after winning the Wedgewood Estates EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes at Newbury.
Out of the frame on his first start at Haydock, the David Elsworth-trained two-year-old took a giant step forward to give his sire Frankel another winner.
Forcing the pace with odds-on favourite City Of Joy throughout, the giant-framed 4/1 chance pulled impressively clear inside the final furlong to cross the line with a length and three-quarters in hand.
Elsworth said: "It was a total misconception that he was outpaced and that six furlongs didn't suit him.
"He has got bags of speed. I nearly put him in the Mill Reef but this race was worth nearly as much with all the bonuses.
"He will probably go for the Racing Post Trophy. Obviously he is a very exciting horse. He has always been a big horse. He was a big foal and a big yearling.
"One doesn't want to get carried away as it was only a maiden he has won but he has pleased us ever since we have had him."
The winner is now no bigger than 40/1 for next year's Qipco 2000 Guineas.
Baydar defied another hike in the weights to make it four wins in succession in the Dubai Duty Free Handicap.
Having been anchored close to the rear of the field by Josephine Gordon, just as he was during his last victory at Sandown, the 6/1 joint-favourite was delivered with precision timing inside the final furlong before going on to score by half a length from Scarlet Dragon.
Rob Speers, racing manager to owner Ibrahim Araci, said: "He is a horse that Hugo Palmer holds in the highest regard.
"You can see by looking at him that he is a reasonably light-framed horse. We were keen to look after him this year with a view to his four-year-old career.
"He was on and off the bridle but the further he went, the better. It is hard to get a horse to win four handicaps in a row especially at the level he is racing at.
"That might be it for the year but he handles a bit of ease in the ground. A step up in trip and grade might well come next."
