Saeed bin Suroor's hopeful that Elite Army can return to form on Sunday before heading to Australia for the Spring Festival.

The five-year-old began his season with victory in a Listed race before finishing second in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot.

However, he then failed to fire in two runs at Newmarket and Goodwood and has since been given a break and Bin Suroor is hopeful that has done the trick ahead of his run in the Preis von Europa at Cologne.

""He is going well now," he told www.godolphin.com.

Elite Army is due to enter quarantine shortly ahead of travelling to Australia for the Emirates Melbourne Cup for which he is a 50/1 chance with Sky Bet.

"This will be his last run before shipping to Australia," Bin Suroor added.

"We are hoping he returns to the form he produced at Ascot in May and June."

Among his opponents on Sunday is the Andrea Wohler-trained Red Cardinal who finished a close third to King's Fete in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury last month.
