Luke Morris is set for a couple of weeks on the sidelines after suffering a broken collar bone in a fall at Chelmsford on Saturday.

The reigning British champion all-weather jockey was partnering the Ed Walker-trained Ghalib in the totepool Like Us On Facebook Handicap when his mount clipped heels and crashed to the ground inside the final furlong.

The rider's agent, Neil Allan, expects Morris to make a swift return as he bids to retain his crown this winter.

Allan said: "I've spoken to Luke and he just has a slight fracture of his collarbone.

"He'll only need a couple of weeks rest, so it's nothing too serious. It was a nasty fall and he was lucky to escape with just that.

"He's in good form and is looking forward to getting back.
