Peace News made a very taking debut on his first start for Henry de Bromhead at Cork in a hot maiden hurdle on Sunday.
Henry de Bromhead's newcomer, who holds an entry in the Grade One Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse on December 4, never looked in any danger in the www.racinghomeforeaster.com Maiden Hurdle at Cork.
The youngster was highly regarded by Willie Mullins but never made it to the track for the Irish champion trainer and was one of the 60 horses moved by Gigginstown House Stud.
Dylan Robinson just did what was needed on the 7/4 favourite, who beat Chirico Vallis by two and a half lengths. with Timi Roli third.
Robinson said: "He travelled very nicely and felt like a very good horse. He had loads left in the tank and has plenty of gears."
Peace News earned a quote of 14/1 from the sponsors about winning the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
There was a turn up in the following INH Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle when long odds-on favourite Bacardys fell, with Sunni May taking advantage.
Everything appeared to be going to plan for Mullins' smart bumper performer and Paul Townend had not moved a muscle on the 1/3 favourite approaching the third-last. He jumped the flight too big, though, and landed steeply, crumpling on landing.
That left long-time leader Dr Mikey well clear but Jessica Harrington's Sunni May (9/2) finished strongly for Robbie Power to get home by a neck.
Power said: "He was value for a lot more than the small margin he won by, as I was badly hampered by Paul's horse at the third-last and the other horse got four or five lengths on me.
"He winged the last two hurdles, and is an exciting horse to look forward to. He probably wants a bit nicer ground and maybe two and a half miles, but he jumped super."
