Kylemore Lough could head for either a Grade One date at Punchestown or a Grade Three handicap heat at Cheltenham following his excellent run in defeat at Ascot.
The seven-year-old delighted trainer Kerry Lee in finishing a head second to Royal Regatta in the 1965 Chase at the Berkshire venue, on what was his first start since winning a Fairyhouse Grade One back in March.
Lee could now look towards a return to the highest level in the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase on December 11 or a trip to Cheltenham 24 hours earlier for the #100,000 Caspian Caviar Gold Cup.
She said: "I'm going to wait for a day or two and see how he comes out of it, but all being well and he's bouncing, we are hoping to take him to Ireland for the John Durkan. It's a huge step up in terms of class as all the big guns will be there and it will be a very, very hard race.
"We've also entered him for the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at Cheltenham the day before and I would say we'll be keeping those options open and see how it goes. Punchestown should really suit him, as would Cheltenham. We were delighted with him, it was a great run."
