The first day of the Tingle Creek meeting at Sandown on Friday is subject to a precautionary inspection at 7.30am.

Clerk of the course Andrew Cooper reported the track to be raceable on Thursday afternoon but will make an early-morning check "in view of now a slight chance of frost overnight".

Temperatures reached 7C during the daytime and the latest forecast is for no lower than zero overnight.

The opening afternoon is due to feature the Grade Two Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle at 2.25.

The chase course is officially good, good to soft in places, while it is good to soft, good in places on the hurdles track.
