Reve De Sivola is set to have his next run when there is plenty of ease in the ground after conditions were not soft enough at Ascot on Saturday.

The 11-year-old could only finish a well-beaten sixth to Unowhatimeanharry on going officially described as good to soft in what was his fifth successive appearance in the Long Walk Hurdle.

The Nick Williams-trained gelding took the Grade One staying prize three years in a row, from 2012 to 2014, and was a creditable second to the brilliant Thistlecrack in 2015.

The Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham on January 28 is a possible target if the going is heavy while the Rendlesham Hurdle at Haydock on February 18, which he won in 2016, is a likely objective.

"It was not soft enough at Ascot. He will go to the Cleeve if the ground is heavy, otherwise we will wait for the Rendlesham," said Reve De Sivola's owner Paul Duffy.
