The rest of the news from the second day of the Winter Festival at Kempton, where Charli Parcs was an impressive winner.

Charli Parcs ran out a most impressive winner of the 32Red Casino Introductory Juvenile Hurdle at Kempton.

Trainer Nicky Henderson had left the course empty handed on Boxing Day, with Might Bite's last-fence fall with victory in sight rubbing salt into the wounds.

But the JP McManus-owned Charli Parcs, who cost a king's ransom before arriving from France, looks something special judging on the way he toyed with his rivals under Noel Fehily.

The 5/4 favourite had the others stone cold turning for home and was spot on over the last two flights to score by eight lengths from Master Blueyes with head in chest.

"It was a disappointing start to the week, but I love this horse," said Henderson.

"JP has a stack of juveniles so I can't be sure where we'll go. But he's got a lot to learn and will want a couple more runs ahead of the Triumph. He's got plenty of speed, and Musselburgh is a place I wouldn't rule out."

Sky Bet installed Charli Parcs at 8/1 in their market for the Triumph Hurdle on the back of the performance.

Nordic Nymph continued her amazing run of success when outstaying her rivals in the 32red Casino Mares' Handicap Hurdle.

The Henry Daly-trained seven-year-old never does anything spectacularly, but knows how to get the job done and that was again the hallmark of her triumph over Midnight Sapphire.

Completing a double for Fehily, the 3/1 favourite knuckled down to the task and came home two lengths to the good, with top weight Morello Royale running a cracker in third, just a neck back.

"She did that lovely, not winning too far," said the Ludlow trainer. "She jumps, gallops, stays and is as honest as the day is long.

"She is what she is and really has everything you hope for in a mare. With one like her you always have half a chance."

Fehily also won the Desert Orchid Chase on Special Tiara and the Wayward Lad on Altior, but his quest to go through the card came to an end when Drumcliff finished a gallant runner-up to Bigmartre in the 32Red On The App Store Handicap Hurdle.

Backed into 9/2 joint favourite, Drumcliff lost his pitch at a crucial stage before rallying to such effect on the run-in that he went down by just a length to the winner, with Beltor a short head adrift in third.

Harry Whittington is pleased he kept the 10/1 winner's chasing career on hold after he tweaked a tendon.

The Sparsholt trainer said: "I felt he had improved because he's strengthened up. He had a tiny tear in a tendon and that's why he's missed half the season.

"He's much more settled these days and will probably stay two and a half  miles, although with a likely fast pace I think he will certainly have an entry in the Betfair Hurdle.''

Double Shuffle put up a smart performance under top weight to take the 32Red.com Handicap Chase for Tom George and Adrian Heskin.

Sent off at 8/1, his three-and-a-half-length success over Go Conquer gave George compensation for the defeat of Sir Valentino by Special Tiara in the featured Desert Orchid Chase.

George said: "Last season he was very progressive and was placed in the novice handicap chase at the Festival.

"He is highly strung, which is why he wears a hood, and I could see him coming back here for the Racing Post Chase at the end of February.

"You always get better ground here, which suits him."

However, there was a sting in the tail for Heskin who was banned for four days for using his whip above the permitted level. He is suspended from January 10-13.
