Andrew Thornton expects to be back in action at the end of this month as he continues his recuperation from injury.
The weighing-room veteran hurt a knee when he turned sharply after dismounting from Kentford Myth in the winner's enclosure at Wincanton on Boxing Day, having just registered a landmark 1,000th domestic career success.
"I've been to Jack Berry House for the past four days, so I'm certainly not resting on my laurels," said Thornton. "I'm seeing a specialist in 10 days and I'll hopefully know a bit more.
"Having the operation just three days after it happened was a massive help, if I'd waited a week or so I'd only just have been able to start the rehab today.
"By having it so soon I was able to start my recovery straight away. I've Dr Foy to thank for that. I'll be back before the end of this month and I feel 21 again!"
