Henryville survived a final-fence blunder before claiming top honours in the Matt Hampson Foundation & NSIF Silver Trophy at Cheltenham.

The 7-1 shot was one of two runners in the 10-strong field for trainer Harry Fry and with jockey Noel Fehily siding with Voix D'Eau, Niall Madden came in for the ride on his stablemate.

Course and distance winner Foxtail Hill led for much of the two-mile-five-furlong journey and briefly looked to have cut loose racing down the hill.

However, Henryville covered the move and looked set to win decisively after sweeping to the lead rounding the home bend.

There was to be a late scare for his supporters though, with the nine-year-old making a mess of the final obstacle, but Madden sat tight.

Henryville also wandered under pressure on the run-in, but had enough in the tank to hold the rallying Foxtail Hill at bay by four lengths.

Nicky Henderson claimed a double in the supporting events sending out William Henry (8-15 favourite) to win the Citipost Novices' Hurdle while Silverhow (7-2), who is a half-brother to stable star Altior, claimed the Cheltenham Pony Racing Authority Graduates' Handicap Hurdle. Political Quiz (9-1) struck gold for Tom Symonds and James Davies in the Arkells Brewery Handicap Hurdle while Mick Thonic (13-8) triumphed in the Weatherite Novices' Chase for Colin Tizzard and Harry Cobden.
