Mark Johnston's progressive young stayer Colour Vision will not run again this season following a third excellent performance in October.
The three-year-old began the month with victory at Pontefract and then finished a fine third in the Cesarewitch.
He then appeared a shade unlucky when taking minor honours behind Fame And Glory when stepped up to Pattern company in the Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup.
Having carried the colours of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the Rainbow Quest gelding is set to race for Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin operation next year.
"He ran a fantastic race at Ascot. I still feel that perhaps he should even have won," said trainer Mark Johnston.
"He was far too far back and then coming up the inside he got hampered and finished so well.
"That's him for the year and he's going to join Godolphin for next year."
