Leeds have signed Gold Coast hooker Beau Falloon for 2016 as a replacement for Paul Aiton.

The 28-year-old has spent the last four seasons with the Titans having started his career with South Sydney in 2008.

And Leeds coach Brian McDermott is delighted to secure Falloon on a 12-month contract with the Super League champions.

McDermott said: "We are pleased to have signed a player with the experience that Beau has.

"He has been playing in the NRL for eight seasons and, having spoken to him, I know he is very excited about the challenge of coming to England and playing with the Rhinos.

"We obviously lost Paul Aiton for a long period this season and it will be good to have more options in our squad for next season. Beau certainly offers that as we look to build on our achievements in 2015."

Aiton, who missed the last two months of the season with a broken arm, is leaving the treble winners to join Super League rivals Catalans Dragons.

Falloon was the Titans' player of the year in 2014 when he earned a call-up to the City Origin side.

"I am really looking forward to joining the Rhinos and getting involved in Super League," he said.

"I have watched a lot of the games this year and I can't wait to pull on a Rhinos jersey. The team have achieved a lot this year and hopefully I can come over and help the side continue that tradition.

"Leeds have got a great forward pack who like to go forward and, being a hooker, that excites me. Leeds has a proud history and it will be special to play for them. I am 28 years old and I thought it was a good time to come over and have a new challenge in my career."
