Wakefield have continued their close-season squad strengthening with the signing of Australian Anthony Tupou.
The prop or second rower, who is not related to the Wildcats' Bill Tupou, joins from NRL side Cronula Sharks on a two-year contract.
And coach Brian Smith has called the deal for Tupou one of the club's biggest moments for foreign imports."
"Toops has a tremendous representative record with Australia and NSW Blues as well as an NRL record with the Roosters and Sharks," Smith said.
"His leadership and great attacking talents are sure to light up the 2016 Super League and Wakefield."
Tupou said: "The decision to leave home wasn't easy for me but the opportunity to be a part of a club that is changing and building is really exciting to me.
"Playing in Super League is something I always knew I would do one day if I had the chance. The style of league here is refreshing and the unpredictability is what I love the most about it."
Wakefield have signed a string of players since narrowly avoiding relegation from Super League in the Million Pound Game, while several others have been tied to new contracts.
