The United States, under the guidance of British coach Brian McDermott, have become the 11th team to qualify for the 2017 World Cup.
The 45-year-old, who is also coach of Leeds Rhinos, watched his players beat Canada 34-24 in Jacksonville.
Danny Howard scored three of the eight tries for the Hawks who shocked the rugby league world by reaching the quarter-finals of the 2013 event that was staged in England.
Saturday's win over Canada has booked their trip to Australia and New Zealand who are the co-hosts of the tournament in two years.
This latest win has helped round off a spectacularly successful year for their new part-time head coach McDermott who masterminded the Rhinos to the domestic treble of Challenge Cup, Super League leaders' shield and Grand Final success in 2015.
