Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan has called on all of the NRL teams to embrace the concept of the World Club Series.
The Warriors defeated the Cronulla Sharks 22-6 on Sunday, following Warrington's 27-18 victory over Brisbane on Saturday.
And the double win for the Super League sides has given the World Club Series a boost, after Australian sides inflicted 3-0 sweeps on England's best teams in the first two years of the expanded competition.
The event was cut to just two matches this year after a host of NRL clubs declined invitations but Lenagan thinks the matches are a fantastic opportunity to promote the sport.
Speaking to Sky Sports in the aftermath of the win over Cronulla, Lenagan said: "Perhaps it will make the NRL realise that the most valuable commodity we have worldwide [is] the game of rugby league, played among international clubs.
"St George, South Sydney, Brisbane, have supported it for a long time.
"It's about time that the rest of the NRL got off their backsides and actually realise, if they are going to promote properly this great game of ours, [they have] got to get behind international club rugby.
"Wigan and Warrington, on behalf of Super League, have shown that this weekend.
"We didn't just beat them, we beat them rather well."
Despite his team's defeat, Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan says he is fully behind the World Club Series.
"It's fantastic," he said. "The way we've been treated by the organisers and Wigan has been first class, I know all the players have appreciated it.
"To play in a game like this in front of a crowd so passionate about their rugby league, we'll come over every year."
