Josh Jones has become the latest player to commit his future to Salford by signing a two-year contract extension.

The 23-year-old, who can play at centre or second row, was a member of St Helens' 2014 Grand Final-winning team, joined the Red Devils just over a year ago following a brief stint in rugby union with Exeter and has played a key role in their climb towards the top of Betfred Super League.

Jones becomes the 10th player to extend his stay at the AJ Bell Stadium following coach Ian Watson's decision to sign on for another three years.

"This is a great club and I really enjoy myself here which is so important," said Jones.

"The club are clearly on the rise and have come a long way in a short time, why wouldn't you want to be a part of it?"

Watson said: "Josh is another great signing for the club that adds to our stability of creating our team going forward.

"He is young and willing to work on the areas of development we have spoken about within his game but he's proved over the season he's a very dynamic player for us who has all the talent and ability to become an international player in the future."
