Salford have signed Warrington reserve hooker Sean Kenny.

The Red Devils will pay a nominal fee for the 21-year-old, who came through the Wolves' academy, and could give him his Super League debut in their match against Castleford next Friday.

Salford coach Ian Watson said: "Sean is a player we've had our eye on for a while and it's great that he's signed for the Red Devils.

"He has shown great potential and shown that he is ready to step up to a Super League level. He is hugely ambitious and will fit in well with the squad we already have here at the club."

Warrington head of rugby operations Karl Fitzpatrick said: "To see Sean gain a full-time Super League contract Is fantastic.

"This again highlights that some players may need a little longer than the age of 19 before being ready for Super League. Hopefully more clubs recognise this and buy into the reserve competition. Sean has been great for us and goes with our full blessing."
