Sam Tomkins interviews Super League stars in the Sky Sports News studio ahead of the new season

Wigan Warriors star Sam Tomkins interviewed Leeds Rhinos' Brett Ferres and Castleford's Mike McMeeken on Sky Sports News in the build-up to the new Super League season.

Super League returns to the Sky Sports screens on Thursday night as Warrington Wolves face Leeds Rhinos, and Tomkins was in the Sky Sports News studio to talk to Ferres and McMeeken ahead of the new season.

Tomkins quizzed Ferres on Leeds' chances for the new season, and the 31-year old Rhino said: "It's an exciting time for Leeds with a younger squad, obviously we have lost some big players in the last two or three years, so it is time for some of these young boys to step up for us."

Tomkins also asked both players for their predictions for the new season, and the Leeds man admitted he is expecting a tough season with six or seven clubs in the chase for honours.

Ferres said: "Hull have recruited very well and Warrington have also recruited well - they always proclaim it is their year. Ourselves and Cas will be up there too.

"There is a good mix in the top four clubs, but that is now stretching out to six or seven now. All-in-all it will be an exciting competition for us.

McMeeken added: "Warrington have recruited well and they will be looking for a big season following on from last year when they were obviously very disappointed.
