Castleford forward Oliver Holmes has been given a one-match ban for a dangerous tackle on Salford's Tyrone McCarthy.
The second-rower pleaded guilty to the charge brought by the Rugby Football League's match review panel but succeeded in having the grading reduced from D to B when he appeared in front of a disciplinary tribunal.
If the original grading remained, Holmes could have been banned for up to five matches, but he will now only sit out Sunday's Super League home game against Wigan,
The one-match ban means the Castleford forward will now be free to play in the Tigers' Grand Final rematch with Leeds the following Friday.
Holmes, who was sin-binned for the challenge on Tyrone McCarthy in Sunday's 22-8 win over Salford, was also fined £500.
Salford coach Ian Watson claimed in his post-match press conference referee Liam Moore ought to have handed Holmes a red card.
