St Helens hand three promising youngsters new contracts

St Helens have handed three of their promising youngsters new contracts at the club.

Three-quarter Matty Fleming and second rower Oliver Davies, both 19, have signed new 12-month deals - with a further year as an option.

Hooker Lewis 'Dougie' Charnock, 20, has also extended his contract until the end of 2016.

Saints coach Keiron Cunningham praised the three players for working hard on their development with the club.

He said: "We have a strong youth system here and that is testament to the quality of the coaching staff and volunteers in the academy.

"The three lads have each progressed through and, following really good scholarship and under-19s performances, are now part of the first team set-up.
