Wakefield have re-signed Scott Grix from Super League rivals Huddersfield.

The utility back, who had a two-year spell at the club before joining the Giants in 2010, has signed a contract for the next two seasons.

Grix said: "I am excited for a change in my career after spending six years at the Giants. It is a great opportunity for me to move back to Wakefield, the club where I made my Super League debut.

"It will be good to play alongside some of my friends and I am looking forward to working with a young set of coaches."

Chairman, Michael Carter said: "I am delighted to announce the signing of Scott Grix on a two-year contract. Scott is a true professional who will bring valued leadership qualities both on and off the field."

Head coach Chris Chester said: "It is great that I have been able to bring Scott back to Wakefield. It will give us a bit of competition to the full back row along with the experience and guidance to help Max Jowitt."

Grix scored 57 tries in 120 appearances for Huddersfield, whose chief executive Richard Thewlis said: "He can leave here with his head held very high for some superb service given to a club that has valued him very highly and appreciated his contribution to our successes over recent years."
