Wakefield have parted company with hooker Scott Moore, the player who scored the try that kept them in Super League in 2015.

The 28-year-old former St Helens, Widnes, Huddersfield, London and Castleford player had a year left on his contract with Trinity, who say he has left the club by mutual consent.

Moore, who made 19 appearances for Wakefield, had been the subject of an investigation by the club following a police incident last October.

Wakefield chairman Michael Carter said: "Both myself and Scott agreed that a fresh start would be best for all concerned and I wish Scott good luck in the future."
