World Club Challenge champions Wigan Warriors have re-signed England international Dan Sarginson on a two-year deal.

Sarginson, who has represented England on three occasions, re-joins Wigan after one season with Gold Coast Titans where he made five appearances after his season was cut short owing to a shoulder injury.

The 24-year-old scored 26 tries in 82 games for Wigan during three years with the club, and left as a Grand Final winner following a fine performance in the 2016 win over Warrington at Old Trafford.

Wigan executive director, Kris Radlinski, said: "We were recently made aware of Dan's situation in Australia and acted swiftly to secure his return to Wigan.

"A real competitor, Dan was phenomenal in the 2016 Grand Final and put in a performance that will live long in the memory.

"He has been desperately unlucky with the injury he sustained whilst at Gold Coast but is fit again now and will arrive in the UK on Saturday and join the rest of the squad on a three-day training camp in Wales as they continue to prepare for the 2018 season."

Sarginson said: "I can't wait to get back to the club I have so many fond memories with including the greatest moment of my career, winning the 2016 Grand Final.

"Although it didn't work out the way I would have liked due to injuries I'm glad to have had the experience of playing in the NRL. I'm really looking forward to getting back amongst it with the boys and to the new season ahead."
