Former England stand-off Leon Pryce has become the first big name to commit his future to the new Bradford club, who will launch with a match against Huddersfield on Sunday.

The 35-year-old, who won every honour in the game during his first spell with the Bulls from 1998 to 2006, returned to his hometown club after leaving Hull at the end of last season.

Along with the rest of the squad, Pryce became a free agent when the club went into liquidation earlier this month but new owners Andrew Chalmers and Graham Lowe met those players still unsigned elsewhere on Wednesday morning and the veteran Pryce became the first to announce an agreement.

Pryce tweeted: "Time to get on with the rugby now. Happy to be staying at home would be an understatement."

The owners, currently searching for a new head coach after announcing the departure of Rohan Smith, are expected to provide an update on their progress at a press conference later in the week.

Former player Henry Paul has distanced himself from the vacancy.
