Huddersfield forward Larne Patrick has joined Super League rivals Castleford on loan for the rest of the season.

The 27-year-old could go straight into the Tigers team to face Hull KR on Sunday with Junior Moors, Gadwin Springer and Frankie Mariano all unavailable.

Patrick is no stranger to going out on loan, having spent the entire 2015 season with Wigan, where he was part of their team defeated in the Grand Final by St Helens.

He had been a regular in the Huddersfield side for the first 10 games of 2016, but missed the win over Warrington because of illness and was also omitted from their squad for Thursday's clash with Wigan.

"I'm delighted to be at such a passionate club who are now a formidable team who are pushing for silverware," Patrick said.

"I'll be doing my best to help the team achieve their goals this season."

Castleford coach Daryl Powell added: "In terms of injuries we have been belted a little bit over the past month and to get someone in like Larne gives us a few options.
